Studying questionnaires taught me how to refine a search for information from other people whilst avoiding vagueness that is sometimes evident in questionnaires. Information about data privacy and questionnaire etiquette was also useful. Together with an introduction to corpus investigation, independent study showed me the extent of linguistic information open to us. Also, work on literature reviews showed how summaries of such data can be made and critically evaluated in a relevant, succinct way. This skillset should be helpful towards group and individual projects this year, providing a reliable basis for data gathering and relaying.
